Powder coating produces a high quality relatively hard protective coating to a large range of materials.

  • Aluminium – Extruded and cast
  • Steel – Black
  • Steel – Galvanized & Zinc Plated
  1. The powder coating process requires a clean dust and oil free surface which can be achieved by sanding, sandblasting(mechanical) or chemical methods such as dipping.
  2. Dry powder is then applied by an electrostatic gun to the part.
  3. Product curing is achieved in an oven at 180 to 210 degrees, depending on the product and powder. This causes the powder to melt and flow to form the coating.
  4. Products can be primed with powder to achieve a longer lasting product.
During transport and installation the powder coating should be protected from damage. After installation to protect appearance and maintain the product life, dirt and grime which builds up on the surface should be removed. The coating should be washed down every 4 to 6 months, depending on the environment.
